Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden is a place that I have always longed for , and it is also full of the culture of the Ancient Tea Horse Road . After more than a hour’s drive , I finally arrived at the mysterious botanical garden . Walking into the botanical garden , there is a green world in front of you . A label is hung on each tree to introduce its family , genus , scientific name , distribution area and purpose to tourists . The red label indicates endangered trees , which are national-level protected plants , and the rest are blue .
The first thing that catches your eyes is Wang LiancHi , Wanglian is a kind of lotus , but the leaves are much larger than ordinary lotus leaves . The appearance is a green circle of a diameter of about 1 meter that is flat on the water surface . The edges of the leaves stand vertically from the water surface to form a circle of 5cm High green fence . Although it is called WangliancHi , since it is currently winter , the most abundant water lilies in the pool are water lilies . They are dim in color , dark green and black , and seem to be thinner than paper . They slumped softly on the water , as if they were just pressed . Will sink to the bottom . In the middle of the pool , there are 4 or 5 pieces of Wanglian . The bright light green makes them stand out from the malaise water lilies .
Standing by the Wang Lian Pond and looking up , it was a small piece of Wang Zong . King palm is a palm plant with 6 or 7 stories high and about 30 to 40 cm in diameter . The upper and lower ends of the trunk are thin and the middle is thick . Like a missile to be launched , it will rush to the sky with the sound of the command . Therefore , it is also called a missile brown , and that small piece of land is called a missile base . The dozen or so king palm trees beside the pool are like reproductions , all of the same height and uniformity .
The next stop is the Wonderful Flower Garden . The first thing I saw was the mandala , which is about 2 meters high . Its flower is very peculiar . The petals of other flowers are covered in layers , but its yellow petals are rolled together and spread out little by little . And other flowers generally bloom upward , but they bloom downward , like small lanterns . Later the tour guide told us that the whole tree are poisonous , and the flowers come in three colors : white , yellow , and purple . The darker the color , the more poisonous . Fortunately , I haven’t touched it before . Although the flowers are beautiful , they are not touchable ! Walk a few steps further in and you will see the dancing grass . Dancing grass is about 50cm high , with thin stems and 3cm long leaves . It is a herbaceous plant shaped like willow leaves . We played soothing music at the dancing grass . The dancing grass was drowsy and motionless as if listening to a lullaby . When we played cheerful music , the dancing grass seemed to be awakened immediately . The little leaves at the top swayed up , down , left and right with the sound of the music , as if they were also enjoying this wonderful music . It’s amazing that grass can listen to music .
Next to the dancing grass is the Tickle Tree . It is about 2 meters high and there is no leaf on the branch . It may have fallen leaves in winter . I gently stroked the itchy tree trunk with my hands , and the thinnest branches began to shake up and down . The stronger the hand when stroking , the more the tree trembles . In the end , even the thick-fingered tree trunk will tremble , like a giggle .Be the tree ticklish ? The trunk of the itchy tree is very smooth , which may be due to the excessive touch by tourists .
Walking out of the Garden of Exotic Flowers and Flowers , a big tree appeared in front of you with a shade of trees below . It was noon , and the hot sun made us immediately cool about in the shade . The name of the tree on the label is ” Fenhuashan Lentil ” . It is really interesting to name the tree after the bean . There are many greens and purple pods hanging on the tree . I would like to pick one and take a look . If you pick a pod from a tree , it will smell like chicken manure . The tour guide also said that this tree blooms in July and August and bears fruit in February and March . Its flowers are pink , and when viewed from a distance , it looks like a bucket of paint has been poured from the sky , and the entire crown of the tree has been powdered , and the fragrance of flowers is overflowing .
What impressed me most was the plant strangulation and the sky garden . The bark of the palm tree is like a fish scale . There is a depression in the middle , which is most likely to be strangled by the banyan tree . Some small animals pull their feces into the grooves in the bark of palm trees , and some feces contained banyan seeds . After the seed germinates , a root droops down along the trunk of the old tree . This kind of root can absorb nutrients in the air and is called ” air root ” . Once the aerial roots penetrate the ground , they become ordinary roots , and the above ground becomes the trunk of the banyan tree . The several air roots of the banyan tree will heal together after contact , and many air roots is connected with a large piece , like putting a coat of the old tree and wrapping it tightly . Old trees will wither and die slowly , while banyan trees grow bigger and bigger , but the middle of the trunk is always hollow , because that is where the old trees once grew .
In general , the botanical garden is a good place to appreciate nature and gain knowledge . It is worth spending a day to visit .
